Ambrose IS 100% All American, live performance driven, "Heritage" Rock & Roll. The "Last Man Standing" sessions hold true to the Ambrose approach of writing and recording in a live setting, allowing the new material to take shape and grow organically. Ambrose believes that a great Rock album must capture the honesty of the moment as well as the true essence of the band as a unit. It is this honesty and raw energy that binds each and every track on the sophomore release "Last Man Standing" to the soulful and diverse Ambrose catalog. The honesty of the lyrics and the vulnerability of the live performances drive every aspect of every track.
Lead singer, guitarist & songwriter Zak Ambrose began playing guitar at the age of 13 and moved to Los Angeles from Northern California to form Ambrose. Zak met Mikey Marquart, permanent member & drummer for the band, and on February 1st, Ambrose returned to Windmark Recording in the heart of Santa Monica, CA with veteran rock producer Anthony Focx (Buck Cherry / Aerosmith) to track their 3rd album, "Last Man Standing." The band completed the performances for 12 new songs over the 28 days of tracking with the goal of releasing 8 of the tracks independently as part of their 2018 EP "Last Man Standing," while seeking out the right label to work with to coordinate a full length album release and tour for 2019.
The Ambrose catalogs has reached out to the ears and audiences of over 30 + Major U.S. radio stations, with 2 of it's tracks breaking the top 100 on both the Active Rock & Pop charts, with "All I Ever Wanted" reaching #82 & top 20 on SIRIUS & "Promiser Land" reaching #74 on ActiveRock (Media-Base). Currently 4/8 tracks from the "Last Man Standing" EP have been put into "full-rotation" on major FM terrestrial radio.
