The Great North Special is a seven piece band from Laguna Beach, CA that explores the limits of Psych Rock, Country Blues, and Funk Soul Americana through long form jams and improvisations that stitch together live sets of carefully crafted original songs and heady covers. The band released its first Self-Titled EP in Summer 2020, which was recorded and produced by the band at their own, Freak Farm Studio. The Great North Special just released their latest single, 'Love Service Devotion' on all streaming platforms May 20th, 2022, with a video to accompany it on YouTube that was directed, filmed, and edited by singer/songwriter and creator Matt Costa. Matt teamed up with the band to create a concept for this newest single and share a piece of what The Great North Special is. The band is now focused and set to spend more time on the road sharing their love of psychedelic musical exploration and celebration with all who are eager to listen.
