Insecure Alex is a band on a tightrope, navigating a thin line between the past and present. The 5 person crew, originally from the Pomona area, blends a contemporary rock and pop sensibility that is inspired by the nostalgic charisma of the Motown Era. The band employs an edge and daring heart that can only come from the boredom and restlessness of the Southern California suburbs - an inspiration point for them, as well as a place where their fan base is rising. The band began their career performing at local bars and clubs in the greater Los Angeles area while developing their sound and writing music. In their first year, the debut of their self-produced EP, Changes, led to opportunities to share the stage with a diverse collection of notable musical icons including 311, Matisyahu, The English Beat, and Ozomatli among others. The raw and penetrating vocals of front man Mark Vasquez are perfectly juxtaposed with the polished blue-eyed soul of a quintet with Brett Woods on keys, guitarist Alex Endonino, bassist Casey Guldberg, and drummer Francis Galluppi. In true indie fashion, the group's do-it-yourself mentality is regularly on display in both their music production and their engaging approach to marketing. With a big sound and the heart to match, Insecure Alex aims to harmonize the soul of music's past with the shine of its present.
